Support groups are opportunities for both survivors of brain injury and their family members to discuss the difficulties and hardships they are facing, as well as the accomplishments and joys in their life.
Survivors, families, and friends can feel isolated, lonely, and overwhelmed after a life altering event. Staying connected with your friends and family, creating a new community, or joining a support group can help prevent isolation and loneliness. The Brain Injury Support Group is created to allow survivors of brain injury and their family members to meet others who are in similar situations, gain valuable emotional support from one another, form friendships, and obtain information and resources.
